Veterinarian Assistants

Chehalis Centralia Veterinary Hospital is fortunate to have a variety of multi-skilled support staff. The jobs of receptionist, kennel assistant, and veterinary assistant often cross paths. That is why most of our staff is trained in multiple areas throughout the hospital.

  • Receptionists, whose job it is to facilitate the clients’ needs and maintain the flow of operations in the front office, are a vital part of the assistant network. Receptionists are responsible for maintaining the appointment book, answering phones, and providing
friendly customer service. They are also the major
line of communication between the clients, doctors,
    and supporting staff.

  • Kennel Assistants are responsible for maintaining patient cages and kennels. This includes walking, feeding, and cleaning pets as needed. They are also responsible for laundry, dishes, garbage, floors, and keeping up outside areas.

  • Veterinary Assistants jobs may include receptionist duties and kennel duties, as well as assisting the doctors and technicians with patients. They provide assistance with patients for procedures, x-rays, lab work, and patient care. They clean and autoclave surgical instruments. They are also responsible for maintaining the treatment and surgical wards ensuring they are clean and well stocked.
